Baby on the way

Top reasons why I can't wait to be a father

1. I can't wait to be called daddy or papa.

2. Our children are going to have such a cool mom.

3. I love holding babies.

4. I love big families and this is the first of many, God willing.

5. Rebecca needs to share and let me carry our child.

6.  I have so much I want to teach them.

7.  I need playmates.

8. I want to play hide and seek and peek a boo.

9. God has been busy knitting our child together for nine months and I can't wait to see what they look like.

10. I want to give them their name.

11.I can better understand God's depth of love for me.

12.And Ariah is a dad and he's cool and I want to be cool too.

13. So I can continue to come up with reasons why I love being a father.

14.   Because I need to learn how to change diapers, Rebecca says.

I don't write much. But when I do it usually is because I want to share with you all how much I love my wife. This is no dffferenet, I love her a lot and I want her to know it so that is why I am posting here. As of right now we have be married for 6 months and it is our half year anniversary. Would everyone please give her lots of eprops for having to deal with me for that long. Wow, I love my wife, I am speechless.....................

Guess what? As of this week I will have completely built my first house as I am now doing construction. Of course, I was aided by 7 other really cool construction buddies of mine and I really didn't do much of the actual building because I am new and unskilled and I mostly cleaned up trash and carried a lot of wet wood and ran here and there to get whatever the other guys needed. But they have let me hammer a few things and I have even used the nail gun and electric saw, but I haven't done much of the actual building, but I am learning a lot and having a lot of fun doing it.
As of now I am biking to work because the job site is in and I don't have a car but we are in the process of getting one for the cold months ahead. I will miss my bike however.
Anyways, that is an update on me.
As of right now I am reading a biography on U2 called WALK ON. It is really interesting, it's mainly about their faith in Christ and how it is has formed and how they see their faith today. They are very concerned about social justice issues, and it seems they have been misunderstood by so many Christians.
"Jesus told a parable about the kingdom of God where the sheep enter the kingdom, and the goats are left ouside. Jesus didn't say the goats smoked, drank, or swore too much. He said they didn't get involved in changing the circumstances of the marginalized by feeding them when they were hungry and visiting them in prison. These were the issues of the kingdom."- bono

"Evangelicals believe they are saved by grace through faith, but then add a man made waiver that you have to work as hard as you can to meet middle class behavioral patterns to hang onto it. It seems to be contrary to the Gospel, where among the many teachings of Jesus regarding servanthood, the last become first. It is an upside down kingdom contradicting what seems the natural order of the first being first and the best winning. The CHurch therefore should be radically opposed to such a success syndrome. ANother strange quirk about the CHurch is it has specific qualities that indicate whether you are an "acrobat". Usually they have to do with swearing, smoking, drinking. For some reason, there are biblical teachings that do not but perhaps should hold so much importance. AMong them: materialistic greed, bigoted prejudice, the oppression of women, or the neglect of social justice. Some how you can ignore many of the rallying calls of Christ and the prophets, and because you are teetotal and less flowery with your language and attend church twice a week, you are declared spiritually strong."-Walk On

I am really interested in his life right now because bono has seemed to have taken a different stand against mainstream evangelicalism that isn't really popular with most but are important for Christians.
I am just now starting to learn more about bono, mainly because I have just never taken the time. I barely know u2 music, but I am curious. In fact, when he came to wheaton I didn't even know who he was, so I thought it pretty ridiculous that people were camping outside to see him. I didn't even go. Oh naivety! Does anybody else have any thoughts or insight into the infamous u2 bono dudes?

I have actually been reading a lot of bio's on singers and songwriters lately. I would highly recommend one on RIch mullins called An arrow pointing to Heaven, another amazing life, also one on keith green called No COmpromise, once again another amazing life lived for the LOrd. both rich, keith and bono were very out of the ordinary for their music, beliefs and lifestyles yet God has worked some crazy things through their lives and music. They were all controversial, especially it seems bono because he is not within the contempory christian mainstream. So let me know what you guys are thinking about bono?
